Alberta is growing rapidly, it is expected that it will lead all other provinces in terms of economic growth this year. Every year thousands of immigrants from across the globe choose Alberta as great place to work and settle. Highly diverse communities, high standard of living, social and economic environment has made Alberta the #1 choice for immigrants.
Almost 20% of Alberta’s total population are those born outside Canada, making it one of the most multi – national and multi – cultural provinces in the country. But it is still lacks the adequate manpower as compare to the resources and opportunities. To tackle this, Government of Alberta and Government of Canada’s department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) launched Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). The purpose of AINP is to invite and retain skilled professionals in order to enhance the economic growth of the province.
The AINP is Government of Alberta’s Provincial Nominee Program for the candidates along with their spouse/common-law partner and dependent children who want to migrate to Alberta. They can apply for the state nomination. Once they got state sponsorship certificate by the Government of Alberta, they can apply for permanent residence through IRCC as a provincial nominee. Considering all the eligibility standards IRCC will make the final decision on all permanent resident applications.
AINP is categorised into 3 main streams:
- The Strategic Recruitment Stream
- The Employer-Driven Stream
- The Self-employed Farmer Stream
2 new streams to be launched in January 2018:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Alberta Express Entry Stream
