AAIP July 2026: Six Draws, 1,167+ Invitations

Alberta ran six Alberta Advantage Immigration Program draws between July 3 and July 15, 2026, issuing at least 1,167 invitations to apply for provincial nomination. We say “at least” deliberately: the province publishes exact counts for five of the six rounds, which sum to 1,167, and reports only “fewer than 10” for the small Law Enforcement round, so the true total sits a handful higher. Precision matters when you are planning your future around these numbers, so that is how we will report them.

The Six July Draws

The cut-offs are the quiet headline here. Every one of the six rounds landed between 52 and 55. Compare that with the spring: the April 10 Opportunity Stream draw required 65, and the June 17 round required 58. Scores have been sliding down as the year progresses, and that trend is good news for candidates who felt priced out earlier in 2026.

The 833-Invitation Opportunity Stream Round

The July 15 Alberta Opportunity Stream draw is the largest AOS round since May 27, when 993 candidates were invited at a minimum of 51. It is the fourth AOS draw of 2026, and at a minimum score of 53, it reached deeper into the pool than the June round did.

The Opportunity Stream matters more than any other stream in this province, for a simple reason: it is where the allocation lives. Of Alberta’s 6,403 nomination spaces for 2026, the AOS alone holds 3,425. As of the province’s July 15 update, 1,859 of those had been issued, leaving 1,566 AOS spaces for the rest of the year. Set that against the 22,913 Opportunity Stream profiles sitting in the EOI pool and the competitive reality is clear.

Where Alberta’s 2026 Numbers Stand

All figures below come from the Government of Alberta’s official AAIP processing page, last updated July 15, 2026. Alberta has used 3,520 of its 6,403 nomination spaces, leaving 2,883 for the remainder of the year, with 1,575 applications still waiting to be processed. By our count of the official draw table, the province has now held 62 draws in 2026 and issued more than 10,760 invitations to apply (the published rounds sum to 10,766, and five small rounds reported only as “fewer than 10” add slightly more).

Three things jump out of that table. Healthcare remains one of the most open lanes in the program, with 313 of 500 spaces still available. The Tourism and Hospitality Stream is nearly finished for the year, with only 26 spaces left; if that is your stream, the window is closing fast. And the Entrepreneur Streams have issued only 24 of 90 nominations while 242 applications sit in various stages of processing, which tells you everything about how selective that route has become.

One more piece worth knowing: nominations issued to practice-ready physicians and qualifying Francophone candidates do not count against Alberta’s 6,403 allocation at all. They come from a separate federal pool of up to 10,000 spaces shared across all provincial nominee programs. Alberta has issued 50 physician nominations and 12 Francophone nominations under that initiative so far. The EOI Pool: 36,760 Profiles

Two practical notes on how this pool actually works. First, Alberta says plainly that your EOI score is not the only factor; the program weighs the full range of information in your profile against its priorities, and it does not disclose recent draw parameters beyond the minimum score. Second, draws are not on a fixed schedule. They happen when the province decides a sector needs them. You cannot time an AAIP draw. You can only be ready when one lands.

Processing Dates: Where the Queue Actually Is

For candidates who have already applied, the official page gives the assessment cut-offs, and they are worth calendaring.

Healthcare files are moving remarkably fast, within about a week of the update date. Tech and AOS files are running roughly three months behind receipt.
